First, physically inspect the round sling to make sure it is free of damage. A round sling is not safe to work with if the strap is too frayed, cut or damaged. Also make sure the label is always present and legible. This contains important information. The round sling will be rejected if the above points are not in order.
Put the round sling around the object to be hoisted and make sure the object has no sharp corners or points. If it does, the use of a protective cover for the lifting strap or protective corners is recommended. After the round sling is secured around the object to be hoisted, you can start hoisting. It is wise to hoist up slowly. In case something does not stay in place, correct it. After hoisting is completed, it is wise to store the round sling safely. Out of reach of UV light. If the roundsling has sustained damage during lifting, it should be discarded. Once a year the roundsling should be inspected by an expert.
